Luis Manzano and John Lloyd Cruz Controversial Kissing Scene in “In My Life” Movie

In the Buzz last Sunday was the reaction of Luis Manzano’s girlfriend Angel Locsin about the controversial kissing scene of the said actor with John Lloyd Cruz. Director Olivia Lamasan had just finished taking the scene which is perhaps one of the challenging acts for the two actors – John Lloyd Cruz’ and Luis Manzano’s tender kissing scene in New York’s Brooklyn Bridge as they portray their roles as gay lovers in Vilma Santos’ new movie “In My Life.”

Angel Locsin said that all is fine with her though she learned about it just recently. She said that it was just part of his showbiz boyfriend’s challenging job.

On the other hand, John Lloyd Cruz had expressed his thoughts about his role in the aforementioned movie even before its shooting. The film, which is shot in New York, includes intimate scenes between the two guys, oned of which is the reported kissing scene of the two actors. In one of Lloydy’s interview with ABS CBN he said, “You know, it’s that kind of something that you can never be prepared for. Kasi, kahit sabihin mo na you’re there, in the moment ka na with your co-actor, talagang parang siyempre, lalaki pa rin sa lalaki and wala naman akong problema with the gay community. Wala akong problema diyan, mahal ko yang mga yan, ang dami kong friends na ganyan and you just have to be reminded na I am only portraying a role. So it’s not going to be easy for sure,” he expressed.

The 25-year old heart throb added, “Siyempre sobrang excited ako kasi first time kong gagawa ng ganitong tema at gusto ko na maggawa ito sa kung paano siya vini-visualize ng director ko at kung paano ko siya vini-visualize. We’re going to work together on this one, kasi ngayon lang ako gagawa ng ganito so gusto kong itodo na. Hindi naman to the highest level, kasi kung isi-set mo na sa standard na highest like kung paano nangyari sa Brokeback Mountain, ano medyo hindi pa ata.”

In conclusion John Lloyd said, “Hindi naman ibig sabihin na hindi ko rin inaalalayan si Bea, you know. Sa kahit kaninong nakakasama ko, kahit si Luis na makakasama ko sa isang pelikula, aalagaan ko pa rin. Kailangan mo silang alagaan. Ayaw na ayaw mong makakaramdam sila ng discomfort. Yan ang pinaka-ayokong mangyari, so ‘pag merong mga eksenang ganyan, hindi yan madali. It’s not easy getting intimate with another person in front of the camera, in front of many people. It is an art,” he says.
