PDA versus PINOY IDOL

With the pilot episode of the Philippine version of American Idol in and the premier of Pinoy Dream Academy pitched in between the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus guardian eviction episode last Saturday, Filipinos are brace to witness the talent search warfare to start right in their very own eyes. The Idol search ad began quite boring in the sense that it showed the usual audition flicks of our kababayans. Perfectly normal in the case as the hopefuls either display their singing prowess or rather shame themselves in national television to humor the viewers.

Maybe this irked the Kapamilya network to try a different style of opening things up as they had immediately unraveled the finalist in groups which make them even more remarkable to the boob tube onwatchers. The first group is already inspirational as they are tagged as “The Strugglers”. The group’s namesake fits them as the first four finalists revealed each struggles in a disease, deficiency, poverty among others.

The second cluster, “The Lovers”, keeps the viewers glued in their seats with stories of love tested through time and obstacles in life. The remaining sets dubbed as kids, professionals, students, power women, familiar faces and contenders from the foreign land. This and more makes this batch anticipated to be more interesting than and as successful as the first season.
This should remind the rival network to work even harder. It is recalled that the PDA’s Graduation ceremonies surpassed the Philippine Idol’s Big Night at the Big Dome who could even inch a bit on the ratings of the show who launched Yeng Constantino’s career. The first episode has yet to showcase brilliant voices.That is if there is any for that matter.
